Students under 18 must have a parent or guardian with them for the first portion of the first classroom session to sign the release waiver.
Students are recommended to bring their own, but if necessary open faced helmets can be supplied by MTOhp.
For the riding portion of the course, (all day Saturday and Sunday) students must wear:
For safety reasons, students who are not wearing the appropriate equipment will not be permitted to ride and will be withdrawn from the course. If students are withdrawn under these circumstances, they will not be entitled to a refund of fees.
Please read all of the following content and related links as you are responsible for understanding it.
Sunday afternoon 1:00 p.m. to about 5:00 p.m. at the same location as your original course or our alternate location - Sheridan College Oakville or the Region of Peel building (7120 Hurontario). You should arrive about 12:45 p.m. to get oriented and select a bike. Please bring your regular driver's licence, a valid M1 or higher motorcycle licence and your retest authorization form.
You will be merged in with the existing class and receive the same instruction and coaching as they do.
Please see these maps.
We offer the same selection of motorcycles as before. You may use any bike not already allocated. Some students will want to use the same type of bike and some may choose a different bike. We will try to provide your first choice but that may not be practical in some cases.
As with the main M1 course, you must use a course provided bike.
The test will be the same as you were exposed to before. The initial period for about the first 90 minutes will be structured practice and coaching. After a break the test will begin. As before, each section will be explained and demonstrated before you ride it.
You will get about 90 minutes of pre test practice including individual and group coaching.
The fee is $50 plus HST, payable by Amex, MasterCard, & VISA. No refunds. Transfers require a new registration in the desired course and payment of new fee. On-line registration only.
Success rates are high. Most students who come back are more relaxed the second time and do better. Sometimes it is just a bit of extra coaching that is needed. Come with a positive expectation.
You may book for another retest but you may want to consider taking the More M1X Riding Time course. See the More M1X Riding Time pages for details
“Successfully completed the M1 Exit course this past weekend. Hans, Mike, Michael, and Vassa were a phenomenal team of instructors! They have a sharp eye and will spot all of your errors, and work patiently with you to correct these so that you will be a much more confident and safe pilot of your motorcycle. If you are thinking of getting into riding, don't even get on a bike without taking this course. We covered everything from the basics of balance, and push steering, to more sophisticated techniques for emergency evasive maneuvers. Good selection of well maintained training bikes to learn on; dirt, street, and sport. When you successfully complete the program, in addition to your certificate (which gets you massive insurance savings) you get a nice goodie bag to start you on your motorcycling career. Thanks again guys!”
